Playtime Staines is a place where children are given the enrichment, stimulation and nurturing they need to become the happiest and most complete version of themselves in their Early Years. The environments we provide them at nursery are a vital part of how we achieve this.
We believe that children become the most complete and happiest version of themselves by developing fully in all areas – physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. However bright, smart and academically advanced children are, they do not live a deeply happy life without emotional and social security too. Equally, the most socially and emotionally developed children will be denied opportunities and certain paths without becoming well developed intellectually and mentally. Our Practitioners, with their nurturing and support are outstanding at ensuring every child in their care becomes socially confident and emotionally fulfilled. It is our environment at the nursery in Staines that allow us to maximise each child’s mental and intellectual development – and all through equipment and resources that they enjoy, have fun with and delight in.
Our neutrally and naturally decorated rooms, with a soft and gentle colour palette and light wooden furniture, provide a wonderful and calming base that feels like a homeroom home for the children. Our equipment is all chosen for its quality, play opportunities and developmental benefits.
Our ‘Dream Coracles’ – which we use as beds for our youngest children – are an excellent example of how we choose our equipment for its practical, developmental and enjoyment benefits. The Dream Coracles are wooden spaces for sleeping and rest. The size and shape of the Coracles give children a greater independence when sleeping as well as adding to their feeling of security, leading to a higher quality of sleep which allows them to be brighter in their waking time.
We have a huge focus on time outdoors here at Playtime Nursery Staines, and because of this our garden area offers a wealth of opportunities for learning experiences. The outdoor environment is a huge open garden space which gives our children unlimited scope to enjoy running freely and exploring their expression in movement. We have a wealth of resources and features outside such as a Mud Kitchen, dens and cosy areas, a Sensory Garden, water play and a Growing Patch, all of which offer stimulation, enrichment and memorable experiences.
