Indoor Environments
Our indoor environments are made up of carefully designed age-specific rooms. Our nursery is purpose-built for childcare which means that we have designed every last element as we want it. Every last detail has been thought of and carefully selected within the building – from the decorating of the “shell” of each room with a colour palette made up of warm, soft, gentle colours which give a natural, calming feeling, through to each individual resource.
Our furniture is all Early Years specific, and is perfectly matched to the age and stage of development of the occupants of each room. For example, we have ‘Community Playthings Nursery Gyms’ in our Baby & Toddler Rooms – these are large structures with steps, a slide, platforms, a curved bridge and a tunnel. They give the children a fantastic base for all sorts of fun games whilst improving their physical skills, enhancing their physical development, progressing their social skills, building their confidence and bringing on their trial-and-error problem solving skills.
Outdoor Environments
Our outdoor spaces at the nursery are absolutely superb. We have fostered a strong connection with nature in all of our children thanks to our large natural garden surrounded by trees and shrubs, with the gorgeous willow tree that forms the magnificent draw of our main garden with its floating canopy of branches hanging over the play space – providing shade and a wonderful ‘outdoor classroom’.
We have a wide array of features, equipment, and resources in our garden which combine to create an amazing outdoor environment rich with experiences for our children. Some of our highlight features are our dens and cosy areas – where the children can relax together, reading, chatting, or telling stories; our large climbing equipment including our Toddler Outdoor Activity Gym, which helps build confidence, develop physical skills, and bring forth adventuring spirit; our Sensory Garden where each sense is mindfully stimulated and honed; and our Mud Kitchen which is a hub of getting stuck into messy play, and mud pies and potions being concocted. We also have hard standing where ride-on play is a firm favourite as well as Growing Planters where the children can grow their own vegetables, herbs, and flowers.
