Indoor Environments
Our main goal environmentally is to create a home-from-home for all of our children. We seek to provide them with comfort, security, an ‘extended family’, opportunities to pursue their own personal interests, areas to relax in, activities that excite them, confidence in learning new things and guidance in developing into the most complete version of themselves.
We start the creation of such a nursery environment with how we decorate each of our rooms. We have selected a colour palette made up of neutral, natural colours – these create a peaceful and tranquil ambience to our spaces. We furnish the rooms with beechwood furniture, all of which is Early Years specific and chosen specifically for the age range of the room’s occupants. The equipment we include is of the highest quality and the majority of it is sourced from Community Playthings. They provide equipment of the highest quality that has been designed based on extensive research into optimal Early Years development. As such, the equipment available to the children at Beech Green Day Nursery is matched perfectly to our ethos of learning through play.
Our resources are the final part of our environment formula. We choose all of them in order to give children the opportunity to have as wide a range of experiences as possible, to satisfy their innate curiosity and to offer them new opportunities to be fascinated, every time they come to nursery.
The range of activities we engage the children in is superb. There are the simple childhood joys we all know and loved – such as games with friends, painting, crafts, story time – through to unique and advanced activities based on the forefront of latest Early Years research – such as extensive sensory play with light tables and mirrors.
Outdoor Environments
Our outdoor space at our nursery in Aylesbury is of endless delight to our children. We have a huge outdoor space that wraps around our building and is directly accessed from most rooms. Our children love spending time out there, getting stuck into all the features and resources – and our Practitioners relish getting them into the garden to have so much fun. Some of the outdoor facilities include climbing equipment, a large space to run and play freely, a digging area, a Vegetable Garden, dens and cosy areas, a Mud Kitchen, a big sandpit, and a Sensory Garden.
