Carefully and thoughtfully designed
We have worked hard on designing and decorating our nursery, paying lots of attention to the main factors – our equipment and resources, which are of the highest quality – and the small details, which are what really make the difference and take the nursery environment to the highest standard.
Spacious and open rooms which are brilliantly resourced
Our age-specific rooms are open and spacious, with plenty of room for the children in each room to move into the areas of the room that interest them most. The size of our rooms also provides the space for us to set up activities that create a lot of mess (and masses of fun and excitement) that all children and staff want to get involved with together. An example of which is our ‘Big Water Unit’ that our older children love interacting with – with the bubbles we can create in it, and pieces that can pour, splash, sprinkle and swirl the water, as well as the toys that can be used in it. There’s endless fascination and joy to be had by the children in the wide range of our interactive equipment and resources.
Two gardens, specifically designed to meet the needs of our older and younger children
We have two wonderfully designed, decorated and kept gardens here at our day nursery. One of them has an all-weather surface and anti-impact flooring, which means we can keep the children safe and enjoying the fresh air all year round, no matter what the weather is like. Our gardens offer lots of opportunities for development as well as fun. We have planters for the children to dig and grow flowers and vegetables in, a sand play area, space for ride-on play, a ‘Play House’, and a ‘Water Wall’.
Inspiring and supporting children’s learning
When you first visit our nursery, you’ll see carefully thought out spaces for children to explore, discover, create and learn. We’re passionate about providing engaging and stimulating environments and play opportunities that inspire and support children’s learning.
We value our outdoor environment as much as we do our indoor spaces. We plan our environments and activities to be interesting, and to engage children, to build on what they know already and to challenge them further. This ensures that children are not only keen learners but also develop their ability to take risks and embrace challenge.
A staff team working in partnership with families
Our staff team works in partnership with families to ensure that they know children well and are able to personalise learning for children individually. For example, if your child is fascinated by dinosaurs, we can use this information to support their learning across all areas including pre-writing skills, storytelling and ‘making’, mathematics, movement and dance, science and nature, and creativity. We offer a range of different resources for children. Some will be familiar and could be seen in the home environment, and some less so. We find offering this combination offers children the security of familiarity along with the confidence to engage with new things. Our approach sees our staff as ‘joint explorers’ with children – scaffolding and supporting children’s learning adventures, supporting them to learn and grow to their potential during their time with us.
Our day nursery caters for children aged from 3 months to 5 years.
