Sycamore House Day Nursery is situated in a spacious, detached, period property. The building has lots of character and charm that we feel offers a great experience from the moment you first arrive with us.
Creative and natural indoor environment
Our indoor nursery environment is bright and bathed in natural light from the huge sash windows. Our age-specific rooms are all large yet cosy and packed with natural resources for our children to explore and interact with. Our furniture is all in keeping with our natural styling and is mostly high-quality nursery-specific beechwood. We have one feature piece in each room which uses real-life items in unusual and creative ways, such as some shelving we’ve fashioned out of gorgeous wooden crates. By doing this, we help to stimulate the children’s minds by removing typical boundaries of the physical world and helping them understand the power of imagination and lateral or creative thinking. This wonderfully demonstrates how deeply we’ve entrenched The Curiosity Approach into every element of our childcare – we never stop devising new and imaginative ways to bring the real, natural world into everyday life, play and learning for our children, fostering curiosity at every opportunity.
Lovely outdoor space
Sycamore House benefits from a well-utilised outdoor space. We have an extensive mud kitchen, flowers and plants, including pots for the children to grow their own vegetables in. It is beautifully designed and a space that is calming yet fun, and helps connect the children to living nature by ensuring it is at their fingertips each day.
