Settling in Sessions
At Nelly’s Day Nursery, we believe that children flourish when their personal, social and emotional needs are met. With this in mind, we offer Settling in Sessions for your child before they start their nursery adventure. It’s extremely important that your child feels safe and secure in their nursery environment before they start permanent sessions.
What to expect from Settling in Sessions
- We will start to build relationships with you and your child
- You will meet our team and your child’s Key Person
- We will start to find out your child’s likes and dislikes, home routine and any specific requirements such as nap times, meal preferences and comforters
The main aim of these sessions is to ensure that you and your child feel completely happy before you start permanent sessions with us.
Our Nursery Fees and Registration
Our nursery year runs from September 1st to August 31st. We close for two weeks at Christmas, for 4 staff training days per year, and for all other Bank Holidays.
Our fees are calculated from your child’s actual booked attendance, based on the nurseries fee structure. Fees payable are calculated by taking your child’s weekly attendance fee, multiplying this by 52 (the number of chargeable weeks per year), and dividing by 12 to give a monthly payment – which is payable monthly in advance, on the first day of each month by Standing Order, cheque or voucher.
To book a place we require a £75.00 non-refundable registration fee for a new family (Please note this fee is not applicable for fully funded sessions).
Our Siblings Discount
Should you already have a child at one of our nurseries or if you’re registering a place for more than one child, we’re pleased to offer a 10% discount off your oldest child’s fees when their younger sibling starts. Please ask at any of our nurseries for more information on this.
OFSTED
Ofsted – ‘Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills’ – regulate educational settings to achieve excellence in children’s care and education.
They inspect all childcare settings to ensure that they deliver in a number of aspects – and in particular that they are effective in supporting children through the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum.
After the inspection of a setting, nurseries receive a full report of the inspector’s findings. Ofsted inspects us regularly.
If you’d like more information on any of these reports, or our childcare philosophy, ethos and practice, our standards, or how we do things, then please give us a call or pop in for a chat with any of our Nursery Managers or teams.
