Simple And Quick To Set Up Physical Activities

Physical activity is important for children of all ages. But if you are at home isolating, it can be hard to give your little ones the opportunities to move that they would normally have. Here are some simple and quick physical activities that are easy to do with your child at home.

By getting involved in the set-up of the activities, children will also benefit from a rewarding and creative challenge. And keeping score in competitive games is great for their number skills!

Balloon volleyball

Balloon volleyball is a fun and active game for all the family. If you are playing in the garden, this will be your volleyball court. Divide it in 2 using a rope strung between two chairs (or whatever you have to hand).  Then simply use a normal balloon as your volleyball! The aim is not to let the balloon touch the ground, keeping it up in the air with your hands. If it’s your turn and the balloon does drop, the other player gets a point. The first to 21 points is the winner!

Mini Crazy Golf

Crazy Golf is always a favourite for children and you can set up your own mini course in your home! Experiment with different household objects to create the perfect course. You could use a stick or an umbrella as a golf club, and an ordinary ball as your golf ball. Cardboard tubes, pool noodles and ropes are all fantastic ways to guide your ball around the course to victory.

Obstacle course

For a true physical workout, there’s nothing better than an obstacle course! Improvise with objects such as washing baskets, sofa cushions, hula hoops and cardboard boxes, getting your children to navigate over, around and through. You can recreate your obstacle course again and again, making it different every time.
