Disappearing Cheerio

This is an enjoyable activity that involves active learning, problem-solving, exploring and will help develop the skills of remembering where an object first started and watching to see where it finishes.

A cup of colourful cheerios

What you will need are some Cheerios and some opaque plastic cups. This game is the same as playing the shell game, however hiding a Cheerio sounds and seems more fun to a child. The idea is to hide a Cheerio under an upside-down cup before moving the cups around. Then your child can guess which cup the Cheerio is hiding under.

The activity will allow new language in play, concentration and eye tracking will be needed to watch where the cheerio ends up. Children also love to take turns with this game wanting you to guess where the Cheerio is too.
