You can be creative and imaginative at home by making your very own story fort.
Gather some blankets, sheets, covers, pillows, pegs or twine and make the most imaginative fort in a space at home.
Ask your children to collect the items you need and tell them you will be building a story fort. Talk to your children about what a fort is and who lives in a fort. This will get your children’s imagination and creativity going.
There is no wrong or correct way to build a fort, all you need is enough space for you to sit and talk as you build your story with your children. A good idea would be to ask them what they would like their fort to look like and turn the fort into a story.
This is also a great occasion to just sit and talk to your children for quiet time, or winding them down for bedtime.
