Squeezy Piping Bags

Making squeezy piping bags with your toddler is a simple yet fun activity for them to do. It also supports their fine motor development.

You will need:

  • Piping bags
  • Flour
  • Water

Method

  1. Fill the piping bags with flour and water at different consistencies. Some with a runny consistency, and some with a thicker consistency.
  2. Cut the end off the piping bag.
  3. Assist your toddler in squeezing the liquid out of the end of the piping bag.

It will, of course, be easier to squeeze the thinner consistency out than the thicker, but this will help to strengthen the muscles in your toddler’s hands and be lots of fun too.

These sorts of exercises are what build the foundations of good hand control, which will later support your toddler when using tools such as crayons and chalk.
