Letter recognition is an important part of a child’s development, however more important is knowing also what sounds letters make. This helps them later on with spelling words.
We have a fun and easy letter sound activity that will make learning fun.
What you will need
- Keys and locks (That all fit correctly)
- Masking tape
- Marker pen
- Stickers
What you need to do
First of all, you start by adding a sticker to the locks.
Next, add masking tape to the keys and write a letter on it that begins with the name of the word that is on one of the stickers on the lock.
Now add the keys to a pot and start by getting your child to pick out a key and seeing what sound the letter is on the key. They then have to match the sound with one of the stickers on the lock.
