Let’s Get Moving!

When your baby grows and become more aware of what is going on around them, they will start to reach out and make sounds to be heard. Most of the time we guess what they would like or what they are trying to tell us, they often point to things they want.

If your baby points to something it is important that when you pass them the object you talk to them and tell them what you are passing to them with easy, simple words. If they point to objects ask them, “Is this what you would like?”. Use your head to shake yes or no. Every word or action you do with your baby helps with learning of language.

This will often help them to also learn to move, crawling for something they like or want.

This may happen during tummy time when a baby is sitting up, they may reach forward or lean back and work out where they would like to go.

There will be a real temptation to help your baby especially as the noises that babies make when they are learning to move can sound very much like they are frustrated or trying super hard.

If you know that your baby is safe and not in discomfort you should see these noises for what they are they are communicating with you so spend the time to learn and see what they are trying to say.
